One of our goals at Maidens with a Mission is to motivate young women in projects that build the kingdom of God.  We all have a mission and a duty and obligation to fulfill it.  The following are stories shared by young women as they have wrestled with the question of “What does God want me to do?”  We hope you will be encouraged by their stories!

Why I want to become an EMT
Alayna Thorne

Lately, I’ve had a hard decision about deciding what I wanted to be in this life.  Eventually I settled for an EMT.  Nothing about this job is easy and I’ve come to accept the fact that you can’t save everyone, but there are ups!  I do know that deep down in my heart I feel a fire burning just at the thought of becoming an EMT.

It’s the fact that every single day, I have the chance to save someone’s life.  Knowing deep down, that I made a difference.  It may have been small to others, but to me, helping someone just in the smallest way is the biggest difference you can make.

So yes, I want to be an EMT!  I know it’s not going to be easy, but I also know God’s hand will be with me every step of the way.  No matter what happens, I will know that I tried my very best to help that person in need.  As long as I’m trying and helping, I know that I’m doing it for my Heavenly Father.  I know no matter what happens, that those people will all be ok in the end.
